THE STARNGER (Track 7) (To L.C.)
He’s just arrived in town,
The only one who’s a stranger here.
So watch out for him now
The darkest man will break you into tears.
He wears a Christian cross,
But also a Buddhist strap on his wrist.
The mixture of them both
Confers him a great halo of wit.
And he’s just looking for thee.
You’d rather try to believe.
He’s wandering the streets
He’s seeking someone he can convert.
So do behave yourself
‘Cause he’s just writing everything down.
No catchy chorus lines
The music business broke him into tears
The man in dark’s come back
You could be hypnotised by his tunes.
Those who have ears let you hear
You’d rather try to believe.
