Hall-epic fail-ujah by michael hermiston at the risk of raising the ire of purists, here is an irreverent satirical cover of "Hallelujah" with original lyrics
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CixHnoeakg

i know this tune gets played more and more
in spite of it's brilliance, an over sung bore
so here's a new version to joke with, my medulla
the lyrics right here cite the change in chords
this Dm is just a metaphor
referring to archetypal images epic fail-ullia

your lust for life, as sharp as love
your sense of truth, a flat empty glove
which kept you from touching life's moistness
and drool ya
but the song needs wet naked woman here
and better with a hint of tears
and seductive crooked lawyer here to sue ya

we've all had hurts and all had wounds
we've broken teeth on silver spoons
rolled our eyes, in poetry class at school ya
kept abandoned love from stark despair
refused to dye and groom our hair
offered words absurd that might have fooled ya

my heart can paint a masterpiece
it's rhythm will help my grief to cease
the bullshit you layed upon me it was so cruel ya
indoctrinated sexually
by a plethora of hot babes on MTV
as you knocked my snooker balls around at pool ya

on computer screen, streams a hockey game
was fun as a child now just money and fame
one town and country, against another like a duel ya
i bow down to this cultural war
i'm old now and my knees are sore
the rich get rich and the poor get
poor-epic fail-ujah

in the beginning was the word
some metphors can seem absurd
but have you a better way to explain it do ya
while Bach is bliss, Beethoven pain
Mozart beauty, Wagners stain
music's love and melts the heart that's so true ya

so the critic inside me starts to clap
sarcastically , he deems this all crap
and wonders what i feel i have to prove ya
but i dragged him out to the compost bin
grabbed his judgment and threw it in
saying Lenny would love my dance with his epic fail groove ya
