I was getting alerted to this from lots of friends on Facebook today, including non-Cohenites ;-) It is definitely worth all the notifications. So well done and unique. I also love the way he gives the proceeds of his CD's to charity :D

Oh, hey... I didn't see that he's done cd's, as well.
VERY cool.
Loved this and have shared it, as well as sent it via email.

It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
I think I've now heard the holy version....

...and, whilst the devil might not have all the best tunes, a broken lyric still has the upperhand for me.

It's a heartwarming performance and that priest certainly hits notes where others fear to tread.

The video seems to be going viral at the moment and is currently top of the charts on the facebook trending section, which is what drew my attention to it.

Can we now look forward to LC enjoying a Passover/Easter number one with the holy Hallelujah to rival his ghost of Christmas past?

He will be on RTE's Late Late Show in just a few minutes. You can catch it tomorrow on RTE Player.

I hope there will be a link provided for viewing his appearance after the fact. I've no idea what RTE Late Late Show is... maybe a show that generates from Ireland/England? I'd love to hear what he has to say about his surprizing them this way.

Hello Sereneava,
this is the Polish translation of the original Leonard's text by Maciej Zembaty, the poet/singer known for making Poland the country where Leonard Cohen always had huge following.
This is the text always used when singing Hallelujah in Polish.
