The other day music producer Hal Wilner and Lou's widow Laurie Anderson invited all New York to hang out at Lincoln Center outdoor plaza for three hours of Lou Reed music piped over powerful loudspeakers. People danced , mouthed the well known lyrics, or sat and quietly meditated. Philip Glass joined Laurie--they were like real good friends. Here's 13 minutes of what I filmed:

What a good idea for a tribute to Lou.
I only saw him once, and that was in one of Hal Wilmer's "Came so far for beauty" productions, but he was one of the best.
Thank you Thelma for reporting this.
