Comedian Arthur Smith has been singing the Leonard Cohen songbook at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - anyone caught it?

Could not get there to see him. Was he good and what did he sing? If he comes nearer my neck of the woods I would like to see this.

He's pretty good. He's not an impersonator, but has a good go at a couple of songs. Stranger Song, and Last Year's Man are a couple I remember him doing.

For those that don;t know smith is an english comedian /raconteur- often to be heard on BBC radio 4
Hope someone posts a video clip and/or he brings the show to somewhere near me.

Arthur Smith takes part in this tv documentary called 'What Leonard Cohen Did For Me', from a few years ago. Start at about 2.26 minutes into video.

I'm hoping that he'll bring the show back to London. Apparently there were a couple of warm-up shows in July but I heard about them too late.

Presumably Arthur Smith is still doing what he was doing about twelve years ago? (I heard a tape of it back then). I know he's keen on Leonard, but the show that he puts on is an extremely odd way of expressing his appreciation!

I don't think it's odd at all. It's a show mainly about Arthur Smith, and his Mother. Not a Leonard Cohen aprreciation show.

From the BBC - doesn't say when it's due to be broadcast though. Love the idea of nudity in a radio show...
Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen Again
Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen was a hit at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival some years ago. The show ran in London's West End before a final outing in Montreal at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. Recorded for BBC Radio 4, it is still repeated frequently on BBC Radio 4 Extra.

In Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen Again, which was a critical and word of mouth hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2013, Arthur interweaves Cohen's songs with his account of his mother's decline into dementia. In this new show he reflects on dementia, enthusiasm, comedy and death.

It doesn't sound much like comedy, but Arthur Smith is one of the country's funniest men who has the ability to combine intelligence and insight with humour and laugh out loud gags.

**Please be aware that there is some nudity in this show.**

Date: Saturday 11 January
Venue: BBC Radio Theatre, London
Doors open: 7.15pm

To apply for tickets, visit bbc.co.uk/tickets.

We look forward to seeing you in our audience very soon.

Kind regards

How do we know that there's not nudity in ALL radio shows?
