The Question

The twisting winding roads,
That life does take me down,
A labyrinth of lies,
Where innocence is drowned.

The beauty of your eyes,
You smile and your feet,
The love that never was,
A thousand kisses deep.

The sun that never raised,
The moon that died last night,
The silent sea of tears,
As you sank out of sight.

The meaning of the words,
That we have never said,
Are hanging from the cross,
We nailed above your bed.

The silent blood does flow,
The water from your side,
The heavens and the earth,
That flesh and blood have cried.

And when the final light
And curtains fall and close,
The question still remains
The story’s still untold.

Hi ness ~

I've only just now read this. When I was met with four poems all at once from the same person, I felt overwhelmed and disinclined to read any of them until I somehow felt 'up' to it. So, this morning, I did, and found that I actually like it. You play off Leonard, but not so much as to be disturbing. I like your rhymes and your message. So, now I'll go read the others.
