It's one of the many pleasures that such things go 'round and 'round. Allison finds joy in singing the words and playing the songs of Leonard Cohen, and this in turn brings new joys to listeners, and then we carry on, allowing that to manifest in other ways in our lives...

p.s. both of Allison Crowe's full length albums contain a Leonard Cohen song cover ~ and while her Hallelujah version, recently labeled "truly transcendent" by a reviewer for one of Canada's biggest dailies, has been most noted, her rendition of Joan of Arc offers another opportunity to hear how the music can be interpreted:

Cindy Filipenko, in reviewing this track for Canada's well-known feminist magazine, Herizons, shared this perspective:
"The lone cover song she includes on the CD is from one of her icons, Leonard Cohen. She tackles his 'Joan of Arc' and manages to make it her own - not an easy task, considering the amazing version Jennifer Warnes added to the canon with Famous Blue Raincoat. That, at 23, Crowe should have the maturity to make her interpretation of this complex song sound sincere and authentic is truly impressive."
I'm hoping to, one day, hear Allison perform some of Leonard's other tunes, but, life is what happens...
