Idle moments

Sometimes I miss the times of laziness
when I looked at the sky just for watching the clouds.
Sometimes I feel happy just to be alive
looking the birds fly.
Sometimes I enjoy the quiet
understanding the noises
that silence brings to me.
Sometimes I envy the tree
That receive the caress of the wind
Sometimes I love watching the birds in the garden
Fluttering around and mating in the green

Hi Sandra ~

"Grieve" might seem to be too strong a word; yet, when I think of the rareness in my life of the kind of time you describe, I really think it's not too strong.
Sometimes I enjoy the quiet
And understand the many noises
That silence brings to me
I like the seeming contradiction of these lines that prove to be wholly true.

Thank you for posting a 'lazing' poem.

Thank you for thinking of me, Sandra. Remembering life and what it means to be alive helps in the midst of sadness.

Hello Sandra -

Beautiful images of both relaxation and longing.
Isn't it amazing how many sounds there really are where we - children of the noisiest age in history - perceive but "silence"?
How musically rich Nature can be, when we succeed in keeping still?

I enjoyed reading this. And I'll come back.
