Hello you all,

I went to a gig of the Belgian singer-songwriter Mauro Pawlowski (former band member of "The Evil Superstars") and really enjoyed his show. He also played a nice song by Neil Young: "Will to love".

I didn't know Neil Young that well before, but I'm getting interested in him. Which albums are your favorite ones? And which ones are the most intimate ones? I guess I like music which is very sober and calm (just a man and his guitar)

Can you guys give me a hint on which album of NY to start with or which compilation is the best to buy.

Best regards,
Maarten

he just had a best of compilation that came out not too long ago, but i'm sure there's a lot of compilations from him. he has a great body of work so it's a little hard to suggest anything specific, however, some of his best material is on these albums: "harvest," "harvest moon," "rust never sleeps," "freedom," and i like his last album, "greendale," which is a concept album. i saw him in concert on tour for that album and it was incredible. it was a whole stage production with actors and everything. he even made a movie of it as well.

Hello Maarten,
I recommend the following acoustic albums:

- Silver & Gold
- Harvest Moon
- Comes A Time

There's also a DVD called "Silver & Gold" (live in 1999), just Neil and his guitar, really beautiful.

Hi Maarten,

the original "Will To Love" (though not "just a man and his guitar") is on "American Stars 'N Bars".
