A New Promise of You

The last days are here now,
I feel it in my bones,
Tearing at my mind,
Shaking our tomb stones.
Shaking the ground,
Down on my knees,
My body is numb,
My mind does freeze.
The last days of night and darkness,
That last forever and ever,
Eternity is ending,
And the game is over.
Into the emptiness,
Souls are lost ,
Bones are broken,
Our minds are crushed,
As all hell and heaven break loose,
In the depths of the universe,
The empty noose.
The joints of reality are shaking,
As blocks are breaking and falling away,
My mind is empty with nothing to say.
Into the void of nothingness,
We disappear over the hills of illusion,
Melt into the ocean of non existence,
For ever and ever,
Amen.
The last days are what we have ,
Been waiting for,
Longing for,
Hoping desperately to come,
The final roll of a broken drum,
The end at last, the final act,
The waking up in the trap,
The shaking off of our bewitchment.
The waking up of our bewilderment.
The last days are here now.
Nobody knows,
Nobody feels,
Nor even imagines,
No conception is possible,
No perception is conceivable,
For those lost in the labyrinth of the unbelievable.
The meanders of right and wrong,
Singing the unsingable song,
The choosing of right and left,
Living the life of death,
Up and down,
Round and round,
The seeing of black and white,
The mixing of day and night,
The illusion of you,
The blasphemy of me,
Inside and out,
Down on my knee,
Keep your mind occupied,
Keep your spirit in chains well tied,
Keep your fingers nibble but numb,
Pulling the triggers on that long barrelled gun,
Shoot them all down,
Johnny don't let them go,
Shoot till there's nothing but red blood in snow.
Don't think about anything,
But your pleasure and pain,
Don't let them make you think again.
About the end of the line,
Your bleeding heart,
The end of time.
Rather be a red smug in the snow,
Than stop to realise that I have let you go.
But it will all fall down,
To the bottom of the well,
Like so much rubbish,
Falling into hell.
The dark hole, we have dug with our very own hands,
From the very start, we dug in the sand,
Day and night, we have worked on and on,
The hole that is our grave,
Our original song.
For our forgotten souls,
Our forgotten love,
Our long lost friends,
And for God above,
For all that is dear to us,
That we can not leave,
Nor let go, nor achieve,
Will be thrown into the depths,
Of this bottomless hole,
The very last dregs in our begging bowl.
Will be swallowed up forever,
All that we desire,
Our feeling and thoughts,
Our intimate fire,
Under piles of rubbish that will fall and fall,
Through the void of emptiness at the heart of our souls.
But we will rise up again from the ashes of illusion,
From the turning and twisting of infinite delusion,
When all is gone and all is lost,
Rise not a spirit nor an empty ghost,
But something new will arise from the ashes of hell,
Rise from the depths of this empty dry well,
A new man,
A new woman,
A new soul,
A new promise of you.
A new world for us all.
