Can you help what style of music is this?

Folks,
I'm am trying to write some Marketing blurb to accompany the launch of my CD.

There is a question that I have always found VERY difficult to answer "What do you sound like?"

People ask me this question, and I go "Err... I don't know" and feel a bit like I "should" be able to answer this question, but just can't.
I really don't know what to say when people ask me this, they look at me expectantly. The best I can think to say is "Er.. it's kind of… original", or "maybe I sound a bit like..." (but the artist I give is never like me)

Someone told me yesterday that I sounded like Leoard Cohen. You're the experts, what to you think?

:D

Anywho, you could really help me here, by answering one or more of these three "easy" questions

Question 1: Who do I sound like?
Question 2: What style is it?
Question 3: Describe my music in one short sentence...

There are 3 samples from my music here
http://www.gobendy.com/music.htm

(BTW - The current blurb on my site is supposed to be a joke - as I couldn't think of anything serious to say)
Or here:

Many, many thanks if you can help solve this problem for me
Kind regards

I went to your site and found that Bendy was a talking willy, and as your site is UK I wondered if you realised that has been done before in a cartoon strip here.

However that answers one of your questions anyway, your style of music is, of course, cock and troll.

First time round your samples didn't play properly and all I got was a long low growl and I thought it was your Tom Waits impression. I did wonder if it was a virus I was downloading and thought I might need to get my computer guy in to check. But then your music did play and it's not LC at all. It's the not unpleasant sound of a much younger, less mature folk voice.

I'm a sucker for a well written blurb - good on your for taking the matter seriously.

Unfortunately, I'm not a muso, so I'm crap at identifying genres and sub-genres. I thought it sounded like mellow, slanted-rain folk-hop with a twist of blues spirit. The voice is a little Bright Eyes-esque, n'est ce pas?

Jack ~

Your description makes Bendy sound like a verbal contortionist. I haven't heard him yet, though, so I can't speak to its accuracy. Well, not that hearing him will help me to align all that, anyway :? . I'll be interested to see how he feels about it.

Ah! Another link. Thanks, Bendy! I'll listen later this afternoon. I still need to find Henning's "Silent Night," too.

Hi Bendy ~

I finally got a chance to listen yesterday. I don't really hear 'Leonard' in your voice. I really like the melodies, music, and words of the second, two songs 8) . The first one I found frustrating, as I had to listen 'past' the music to hear the words :( . I guess one might call that the 'mix' of the two was weighted toward the music? I love the playfulness and brightness of your album cover :D . Thanks for sharing your creations. Pretty amazing to me, too, that it was all done by yourself on a laptop[?] or simply a pc? I'm amazed by musicians, period, regardless 8) !

I don't hear Leonard at all but it's pleasant. It is tough to find a genre for it though. I'm not good at categories anyway but thanks for letting us listen.
