Look At Me

Look at me

look at me slowly, lower your eyes
look at me only, let the time fly
let the late light soften the scene
covering all with a wintry sheen

how much do you see, look carefully
the mind with blinders narrow may be
can you carefully cleanse the lense inside
behind which we hide

pervasion's the key, every possibility
identified then tried,
search in every single place
then give up the race

the winner loses all
then within the emptiness
discovers wealth, a healthy hunger
craving more wisdom and wonder

This feels like old home week... it's so good to see you, Sean.

The progression of your poems ends exactly where it does in life.
I like it.

Welcome back, Sean... the blinders are so part of the human condition... let's not look at reality too much...
