Imagining Leonard Cohen at work

So far Leonard Cohen has lived in places most of us can easily imagine and probably would not mind visiting:
Montreal -- Hydra -- New York City --Nashville --The South of France -- Los Angeles...

When I followed Joey Carenza's photo journal of LC's previous tour, I often wondered what other locations might nourish LC's creativity. I imagined where else he might enjoy living and working on his poetry. The following is my short list. I hope you might add yours.

Banff
Whistler
Jackson Hole
Sedona
Taos
One of the islands approaching Stockholm
The Lake District
The Italian Lake District
Bled, in Slovenia
Alto Adige

Maybe I am going for the too obvious and maybe, despite their beauty, too touristy. How about...?

I like the idea of the mountains, but it may have to be off-season, or at least removed from the bustle of the towns. I recall an interview with Leonard (please don't ask where or when), and he said that one of the most beautiful things in the world to him (after a woman!) was a mountain lake, so he may find Lake Louise (in Banff) to be most a most agreeable place, or any of the many lovely lakes in the Canadian Rockies (and, if he chooses to travel there via Edmonton, he can stay at my place en route!).

I agree with your thoughts about lakes, LisaLCfan (and Edmonton woud be convenient :D ). Somehow water has to be involved. I love the image of LC in Hydra looking out on the sea over the rooftops. Trieste should have been on my shortlist for imagined portraits of the writer at work -- and as musical background his very own "Tacoma Trailer."
