I've heard there was a secret chord
That jazz guys played cos they were bored
But you don't really care for jazz music, do ya?
It goes like this
The augmented fifth
The diminished chord , the A flat sixth
The jazz guitarist playing Hallelujah

The Jazz Guitarist Playing Hallelujah

Then you took me from my favourite pub
And dragged me to your cellar club
Where all the cats just nodded, like they knew ya
Then the drummer laughed
The bass player grinned
And they said "Hey man, you can sit in"
And wail free jazz over the chords of Hallelujah

Your lines were strong, your rhythm sound
It all seemed like familiar ground
The chords came fast but it was nothing to ya
And though the punters eyes were glazed
You acted like they had no taste
And you just kept on playing Hallelujah
