Manfred Mann and Leonard Cohen (?)

OK, stretching the category 'News' somewhat ... but:
Did I imagine it or did the BBC4 Sounds of the Sixties prog last Friday (5 Nov) end with an on-screen snippet to the effect that Manfred Mann's 1968 song 'My Name's Jack' ( 'and I live in the back / of the Greta Garbo Home / for Wayward Boys and Girls') was co-written by LC?!
On-line searches have revealed that the song is credited to one John Simon. Same person as the producer of the first album?
Any info out there?
