Does anyone have any idea if this is likely to be recorded for a future album? I know we have the live version but I was really hoping it would turn up on Old Ideas. For me it's as beautiful as anything he's ever composed

The more recordings, the more versions - the better.

I get frustrated, too, when people laugh out loud at his great line in the beginning.
I understand their laughter, but for me, I'm already into the seriousness of the poem.
A studio version would be exactly right... and I have full faith in his ability to carry it off without the audience feedback.

i have this somewhere, but haven't seen it for ages. it's an acetate, leonard speaking the words over tacoma trailer, if i remember correctly. came anonymously in the post to me years ago.

ok i have found it now. it is leonard reciting his song quite slowly over instrumental music. it may have been an outtake, the original way it was supposed to appear on the album, but discarded, i have no idea. it says 'a thousand kisses deep in tacoma' on the label.
