The funniest moment of the recent contest

as we know, the cool members of this forum took part in a fun poetry contest recently.
the absolute highlight for me was when Martine was pretending that she was under tremendous pressure, hurrying to complete her opus before the deadline.
one of her complaints was that I was distracting her by constant pm'ing including(and I can't be troubled to check back to get exact words) "get on with it you lazy bitch". I replied that she had simply misquoted me and I had really said " get on with it you lazy fat bitch" or something like that anyway.
you had to be there but it really was funny.

eeek! slight clarification- I had said nothing at all like that but Martine's wind-up was delicious and my response was....well, funny.

~ Yes, I remember that moment. It may have been in a different spot, but I remember something very close to that clarification you made for Martine. I, likewise, loved the pressure she kept disclosing ~ and your interferences with her progress

. It's during that approximate time that I began to see the 'other' side of Martine, and to like her.

give me some of the lines from the "lost masterpiece" and we can have a new mini-comp. to reconstruct it!

all my life I was scared of dogs. 3 years ago we got Cato, a beautiful flat-coated retriever, I LOVE him!

I have a Retriever with some sort of personality flaw. You throw the ball you go and pick it up 'cos she doesn't want to know

Paula.
C2 ~ Love how everything happens for a reason. Who'd uh thunk Martine would be a part of your reframing process. We just never know what part a person may come ["
Come, Martine,
come! OK, Sit ~ Most importantly, Stay

!"] to play in our lives.

Awww....all this talk about dogs And the presidential election got me to think about my friend's website. She encouraged me to write a story for her 'pet cemetary' section of beloved pets about the best dog in the world. He lived a long and happy life. Four years gone and i still miss him. Sarah the rebound dog just doesn't fill his paws.
Anyways, Mr. Pooh's story is on my friend's site if you have nother better to do.

There is a POOBAH link to click in the first paragraph. It also happens to have a presidential influenced poem stuck in there.

A very sad truth, Laurie ~ "Sarah the rebound dog just doesn't fill his paws." I remember your previous sharing regarding your wonderful and very missed dog. I'll read your Mr. Pooh's story. I told you that I currently have a cat named Pooh, didn't I? Thanks for providing us with the link.
Makera ~ On the healing side of things, why don't you bring your poem that you have on AllPoetry, regarding your dog and the ensuing tragedy of kennel time. It was a very touching poem, and it would be good to see the soft side of you that this poem reveals. I don't recall if there was a blurb with some additional information or not, but if there was, please bring it here, too.

I appreciate the thought Liz, but anyone genuinely interested in knowing anything about me can discover for themselves any time with a simple click on my author page.
I have no need or desire to 'convince' anyone against their will.
Thanks for remembering my attempt to put the tragedy of my Basenji, George, in a poem. But I was not happy with that one, it went back to the 'drawing board', as it was done to fit the form parameters of a contest at the time. It didn't quite convey what I wished due to the contest constraints. (One of the reasons I rarely enter contests unless a prewrite fits).
