Maggots

You don“t deserve the delivery of the tears
and at a certain point in the wild night of exhaustion
you realize that Satan does not intend to
let you slip into the trance of sorrow either

He will pick up his pair of tweezers and
force the yellow eye of consciousness open
so that every deceit your tiny existence managed to produce
will dance before you in the dusty robes of a moth

In the fear of madness you feel
the maggots of your promises invade
the hideously dark fleshwheel of the heart
until the rusty rim strike sparks against
the iron chest of death
