If you could use one word to describe DH what would it be? After hearing the cd three times now the word SKELETAL comes to mind.

I'd have to say "Humble" because L.C. is within the golden years of his life and looking from the outside in Dear Heather and Leonard Cohen seem humbled by age. Another word would behaps be "Hommage" because Leonard Cohen is paying hommage to many artists and paying great "Tribute" all at the same time. Three words....I cheated

Me and a friend were talking yesterday about the album. Even though I'm a great fan of music at first I was taken back by the spoken word aspects of the album. Later I simply told myself I have to put this record within its context the way Leonard wants his fans too. After I did that the words "absolutely, stunningly beautiful" did come to mind.

My favorite track though has to be "Nightingale" simply because its very much written like a country music song (if you think of songwriting in a mathamatical sense). There are some songs I find that you just can't sing out loud in a field with good friends and people around you because some songs just don't have the same feel as others. Nightingale is so simple though anyone can comprehend it and its meoldy is very easy to sing. I'm glad Leonard hasn't forgotten this aspect of songwriting.

One Word To Describe DH
