A request please for those with any influence

Would it be possible to ask Leonard to do an additional audio version of the next poetry volume that we've been waiting for for so long?

This is one of the ideas that has been discussed with Leonard earlier...
but he has so many plans and several projects in progress; it will be exciting
to see what comes next: the book or another album of new songs! All those
reviewers who are now writing that Dear Heather is obviously L's
farewell to his fans... they have made me smile... we know it better!

Jarkko, let's beg Leonard to release his old abandoned record of Book Of Mercy reading, he made in mid 80s (produced by Henry Lewy, strings arrangements and conduction by Jeremy Lubbock). :!: :!: :!:

In 1999 he told me that the tape has deteriorated so much that it cannot be used!

and in 1991 he told he lost the tape of "Songs For Rebecca". Maybe he found that at least. Is he sure that in the age of digitaly technology nothing can be done?

Ah man, he really needs to release a new book of poetry or prose. He hasn't released a new book of original work in 20 years!! It's insane to think that a writer of his talents has not released something in that long!

I think I would give anything to read the mauscript of "the end of my life in art". The snippets we got to read in "death of a lady's man" got me so intrigued.

Hi all :D I just thought I'd comment that every year our publicly funded radio station the CBC has what is called "Canada Reads". Five Canadian 'luminaries' are picked to pick their favourite Canadian book. What follows is each person giving their reasons as to why their choice should be the winner. This year Rufus Wainwright  (so nice-yet so unaccessable) oh, yeah, Rufus will be fighting the good fight for Leonard's "Beautiful Losers". I don't know exactly which day this is taking place on, but the whole thing usually lasts a week and then they read the books that were chosen - reading the winning book last (I don't know if even the CBC can read Beautiful Losers without some 'careful editing'). When I come online tomorrow, I'll have the CBC in the background so I can get more details. I'd like to hear Rufus and how he can protect BL against all the other choices as in addition to fighting for your book you must, of course, give a bunch of good reasons why the other books don't deserve to take first place honours. Then there is a vote. Then the listeners vote. All VERY Democratic, esp. for public radio

Rufus did not pick the easiest book, even from LC. I am eager to read your resume. :D

I also! Is there some kind of link?

I can probably come up with a link soon as I hear more. I'm not quite sure when it will all be happening. If I don't get more info I'll poke around inside the CBC ( :( so easy to get lost in there) - I'll see what I can do.

LINK!!!

You'll also be able to follow the debates on this web page. The audio of the Radio broadcast will be available, and we'll post an entertaining written summary of what happens each day.
