Any Richard Thompson fans out there?

Definitely a big Richard Thompson fan. He's one of those artists whose releases I rush out to buy as soon as I possibly can. I tend to go mostly for his mid- to late-period work, mostly because I don't like how they treated his voice on the earlier stuff. He's just released a low-profile album filled with recent live versions of his older material, so maybe I'll try to get my hands on that. Mock Tudor is absolutely brilliant, though The Old Kit Bag hasn't immediately grabbed me. I think maybe I need to give it more time to grow on me.

Have you heard his cover of Britney Spears' Oops, I Did It Again?

Incidentally, Richard Thompson recently went on record saying "I’m a big Leonard Cohen fan, one of the truly great songwriters." So there you have it. A great musician with excellent taste

Yes, the Janet Jackson song is quite charming too. I still don't have a dvd player, but hopefully one of these days I'll get to see some of those newfangled gadgets
