I just went to an amazing tribute concert for Leonard Cohen’s birthday with my cousin Jonadav. It was in a small bar, completely packed, which helped create an intimate environment. A bunch of Israeli artists I never heard of performed several of his songs, including Suzanne, I’m Your Man (sung by a woman), Hallelujah (the entire bar joined in), Tower of Song, and great Hebrew covers of Chelsea Hotel, Like a Bird, and First We Take Manhattan. Hearing those songs in Hebrew, especially the last one, was kind of surreal.
