Hi!

Some of you might remember me, I know I don't hang out here at the Forum as much as I used to. I used to post song lyrics and warn Muddy about not taxing his heart too much when he got upset. Then there was also my open mike performances at the 2004 LC Event, as I've put it, "I was so nervous to play Mr. Cohen's songs for people who knew them".

I've released a CD of original music, "Stumbling Towards Happiness", and I'd be honored if you'd take some time out of your day to listen to it. Who knows, you may find something you like!

Thanks, and see you next year in Madison.

Hi John ~

I'm looking forward to seeing you in Madison, and I'm looking forward to hearing your entire cd.
I hope people here will take some time to listen.

I remember listening to some of your songs through here quite some time ago and liked what I heard very much.

All the very best to you, John,
Lizzy

very cool. You sound like Phil Ochs, especially on some songs (e.g. Church Street).

Lizzy, thank you so much for your kind words, and the many words of encouragement you've given me many times over the years. I'm very much looking forward to seeing you and fellow Cohenites next year!

John

Hi Kush - Thank you for listening! You're not the first person to make that comparison. It was first made by our fellow Cohenite Evelyn Stein who told me that I sound like "Phil Ochs, only sweeter", a compliment I took quite deeply back in 2004, when I was still getting my bearings as a performer and even more so as a songwriter.
