I saw Judy Collins last night at the Leicester Square Theatre in London. Stunning. She told stories about her musical career and sang a few lines of Story of Isaac in one tale. She also sang an amazingly beautiful bluesy Bird on the Wire. Glorious. Transforming. Somewhere someone must have recorded this for youtube .....

I'm told there were no cameras allowed at the concert last night so we will be Waiting for The Miracle if we are to get a video of this! There are a few of us Irish Cohenites going to see her on Thursday in Dublin and hopefully she will sing it again and maybe there may be different rules about cameras!

I hope you all enjoy Thursday evening in Dublin. I'm sure that she'll be sparkling.
In London, she also spoke about how she told LC that he had the ability to, and had written, songs and she told how LC had asked her why she had not written songs herself, and how that had started her writing her own material. [she also sang in London an exquisite song that she had written for her mother ... I do hope that she'll record this/I do hope that someone somewhere will eventually record it and post it on youtube ...].
Lots of warnings not to photograph or record and to switch off mobile phones. Small venues prohibit recording ...
Do report on what you think. I found it so surprising to enjoy yet another rendition of Bird on the Wire. Judy Collins' cover made my heart soar.
