Blanket Posting

This might seem a little controversal. I was just pondering (as you do). Would it not be possible to limit the amount of posts people could make. At the moment a lot of threads get killed stone dead by the same person posting (almost) non stop.
Jarkko would it be possible to limit posting to, say, 25 a week just for a month to wean blanket posters off.

Won't work Paula. You could just register several names. Nice idea though.

I think something has to be done to fix this forum. A few posters are destroying anything good about it and I think that is very sad. If the prolific posters can't see that they are stifling any positive discussion with their constant minutia focused posting, I don't know what can be done.

Partisan, I agree you COULD use other names but I don't think the ego of the perpetual poster would cope if the "words of wisdom " were not credited to the poster. Also the style would have to change and I don't think that is possible. You know what they say "all good things"............"come to those who wait".

Of course i could go and register all those names, but not worth it just to make a point. The administrator does not have the time to go around counting posts. The only way to do it is in the software which, as you can see, would not work. Unless it counted posts from the same IP address. I have no idea if this program can do this. Then you just have to work out how to stop people posting from home and work. The only thing that will work is self restraint. However someone who is clearly suffering from an obsessive compulsive disorder will always be unable to show that.

I take your point I didn't realise you could do that. Still it was nice while I thought it was possible.
