.. okay.. this post I originally had here was something in the nature of.. hmm.. "mistaken identity".. I think I could call it.
I'm too tired to go into it right now, but hopefully this gets explained more below..
[by the way, I do believe I had some good yuks here, if I'd had the recipient straight] [problem was: I didn't]

Clair is known to many of us who posted to the Leonard Cohen newsgroup in days of old.
Conversations with her were rewarding as she is not one to withhold. I enjoyed many long conversations with her. She is an accomplished musician ( I have one of her CD's). The invitation she presents, although grammatically wanting, is certainly worth considering.

.. oh, uh.. er.. uh..
.. well, she writes just like a few of our frequent-flyer avatars around here.. so.. keep in mind we're under siege usually.
[oops]
So, uh, Clair, if you actually are a real Clair.. uh, apologies 'n all that.
.. having said that, I hope you have a good sense of humor (!!)
Humbly now,
v.

hi violet,
i want to talk from my heart, not from a dictionary.
i like to consider what is important to me.
i am not neglecful in my use of capital letters - i actively choose not to use them
even if i was a new comer, would it matter?
i posted this in the 'my own work section' where i would imagine it appropriate and invited people, if they choose, to write with me which would be lovely.
if it is of any comfort to you, my mum, who went to grammar school and who spent years being a legal secretary, shares your concerns. it has taken her about 36 years and three dyslexic children, to get over them. and it seems she is almost there
with best wishes,
clair

Thanks, Clair, for being so very kind.
Actually, these "i"'s 'n things are more my "faux" concerns than real concerns. I take them out when I think someone needs a good whuppin'.. [and around here there are a number of characters who are just begging for that, believe me].. the only problem is, their avatars sometimes proliferate like jack rabbits.. so.. it's a bit hard to keep up.
Anyway, just know that posting here can be confusing in ways you might not realize at first. That's probably the most succinct way I have of stating that. Believe me.. it wasn't just that you are a newcomer that this happened, though that was a crucial ingredient. No, you'd need to understand several years of being worn down.. and worn down.. and worn down.. to the point where: well, I think we've just arrived at that point.
.. okay.. my best wishes to you too, Clair!

Hi clair,
Forgive our mistrust but there are a few characters round here that make it very hard to trust anyone…so we tend to wait and see how you play your hand before we contribute our thoughts!
I think round here we are also guilty of letting violet shake the tree first to see what drops out…She’s sort of our first line of defense (and she does it very well), but she is a very lovely and talented lady, whom we have a great deal of respect for…
There is a lot of passion in what she writes and also a lot of humour, and she is not at all concerned about your grammar or spelling, only those who as violet said are ‘just begging for it’…
And there is one very vital thing you need to have in this backroom of the forum and that’s a damn good sense of humour, that and a thick skin…then you’ll do just fine!
Enjoy it here and keep posting… It can be a bit of a roller coaster ride but it can also be a lot of fun if you don’t take it too seriously (believe me I know)!
Best wishes,
Karren B
xx

Tagore suggests;
Lay your hand on his head, and pray
that though the waves underneath grow threatening,
yet the breath from above may come and
fill his sails and
waft him to the heaven of peace.
