I just found out that Leonard Cohen was a guest on David Letterman back in 1993 after the release of The Future. Did any of you watch that episode? Did you tape it? Was Leonard Cohen interviewed or did he just perform? Which songs did he sing? Timothy Hutton and Bonnie Hunt were also on the show that night. Are there any photos online anywhere of Leonard with Letterman?

Leonard appeared on the 10 February 1993 Show and sang The Future . I don't believe there was much by the way of an interview.

Leonard had to change certain words in the song, something that he didn't like at all!

if leonard did not like it he should not have done so. The nice little baby judges of both sexes should no more be allowed to rule anything.

i think the word he usually uses is "careless sex" isnt it?
i might have an mpeg-movie of that performance somewhere
or it's from another the future-tv-performance.
since you really cant see Dave and i don't have the slightest clue
how the late show-scene looked like ten years ago, it's a bit hard to tell
