The girls are on a weekend jaunt, they’re planning to do some bloody housework
They’re in the kitchen… then on a ladder …
They are doing the washing as God created them to
what a complete waste of time the weaker sex are
Dedicated to all my Lady Friends here

so many Ren's
-- if the girls are on a weekend jaunt are we to assume that the they is the fella's?
I think that this poem is a bit sexist, I don't think that men were specifically and only meant for washing up, they have other uses too, although .. it is nice ... when they do wash.

It is my sincere hope that no-one gets banned. I have always seen Leonard as a libetarian, a freedom fighter in many ways!
Although the 60's is for me just an era that my parents look back on with nostalgia, if you put to one side the excesses, don't you think people then were less "hung-up" on rules. There was less authority and I think people blossomed because of it.
I have read the Beat Poets and although it is easy to chuckle at some of the pieces now there was also the most positive aura about the writing.

.. sorry to interrupt the conversation for a moment, but I'm actually in awe of the way you construct your thoughts, Sharon.. I mean, I do believe I'm becoming a fan..

goodness, is blushing allowed on this forum ?
in a strange way Violet's words remind me of what Nanny Joan used to say to us when we were kids "if you can't find anything nice to say about someone then say something nasty". Nanny Joan was not very popular I can tell you!

.. gee.. and now you're reminding me of something my friend's blacklisted butler, Mister McMichael, used to go on about.. something like.. "if you can't think of anything nasty to say then poke the bloke's eye out!"..
.. needless to say, he was very popular with the ladies..
