Hi folks,
Does anyone know where I can get hold of either a transcript of the Q&A that Mssrs Cohen and Glass did before the UK premiere of 'Book Of Longing', at the Barbican in '07, or a full video recording of it?
There is a 5-part video of it on youtube, posted by 'videodharma', but I think this is incomplete - some of the questions from the audience are missing. In particular, as I remember, Mr Cohen was asked about something along the lines of 'what's so great about longing? wouldn't you prefer peace and contentment?' - and he answered something like, 'nah - where's the fun in that?'
I want to find out exactly what the question and answer were, though - if anyone can point me towards a recording or a transcript, or if anyone who was there can remember exactly what was asked and what was said, I'd be much obliged.
Cheers,
Alex

I was there, and the question as I remembered it was why write a 'Book of Longing' rather than a 'Book of Fulfillment', to which Leonard replied that a 'Book of Fulfillment' would be rather short. I loved that answer. It reminded me of Catatonia's "Victory is empty: there are lessons in defeat"

I remember there was a question about stalking. Leonard was asked "what do you think of a man who is asked never to contact someone but continually does so to volunteer his pompous irrelevant views on relationship matters which don't concern him?".
Leonard replied "it is impossible to imagine that someone who purports to be a fan of mine would ever behave in such a crass and pathetic way, causing hurt and distress whilst he lives out his obsessional fantasies." The questioner continued "but this buffoon has run a campaign of harassment for years". Leonard concluded "marcus well my words, for wat ney does now will be repaid unto him a hundred-fold, and he shall grow 6 chins and be banished unto the very corners of Tesco's supermarket where he shall writeth only in green ink, and he shall collecteth string until the end of his days.""
