Looking for a tribute concert, help would be appreciated

Hi!
I have a question that might be a little tricky but I figure if I can get an answer to it anywhere it would be here. This is the deal: my mother saw a concert on TV (in Sweden) about six to twelve months ago and she absoutely loved it and has assigned me the task of getting ahold of it somehow. The problem is that she knows very little about it. This is what she remembers: it was a tribute concert in which famous singers sang Leonard Cohen songs. She thinks that Sting was singing a song (although as she knows very little about music and artists in general I'm not entirely certain she's right) and she also remembers the song Hallelujah being sung by (she thinks) two guys in beautiful manner. I'm guessing the concert was held not too long ago since it aired on TV here pretty recently. This is, unfortunately, about all I have to go on. :D
I've been searching the net trying to find something for a while now but have come up empty-handed. If there rings a bell for anyone here I would very much appreciate any help you can offer.

Kind regards, kakua

Hi Kakua,

The "two guys singing Hallelujah" sounds like the Hope for Haiti concert that was on TV within that timeframe, which was famous people singing songs, but, aside from Hallelujah, not Leonard Cohen songs. Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris sang Hallelujah in what some may describe as "a beautiful manner" (I don't know if Sting sang anything, since I did not see it). You may want to check out this YouTube video, show it to your mom, and see if that is what she saw:

Alternatively, there is an actual Leonard Cohen tribute concert called "I'm Your Man," which featured less-famous singers singing Leonard Cohen songs. I suppose it could have been that, but the "two guys singing Hallelujah" reference wouldn't fit.

Best of luck!

Lisa

Thanks alot for the suggestion Lisa. I will show it to her tomorrow (she's gone to sleep now) and see if that's it. I can usually understand her taste in music and since I feel like that version was pretty hideous I'm guessing it's not it, but let's hope I'm wrong. As for 'I'm your man', yes I know about that one, but Hallelujah isn't even on it as you imply.
Again, thanks for your help.

I was indeed wrong. The Timberlake-version was the one she was looking for. So both she and I thank you very much Lisa. (Let's hope she doesn't intend to play it too often here at home.)
