Who is planning to go to the Vancouver concert?
I am from Vancouver and now live close to Seattle but have spent most of my life there...it truly is one of the most beautiful cities
in the world with the mountains and ocean and islands all right there.
If anyone wants any information I thought this would be a good place to start....
Casterbridge Cohen and Imaginary Friend and I have been connecting and it will be great to have a meet up before the show or the night before if people are interested. I am trying to entice all the Irish friends I met in Sligo this summer to come but so far no luck...
It will be great to welcome Leonard back to Canada!

The Vancouver concert sounds like it will be exciting and well attended by forum members. Alas, the timing is not right for me. So I will have to skip Vancouver and just do the final five concerts in eight days :D .

But I do envy your proximity to Tim Horton's. That is a sentimental franchise that I miss since moving to California. The best decaf coffee and oh, those Timbits!

Enjoy.

Ha ha, I shall be thinking of you next week Arlene when we are back on Cape Breton. Hortons is of course a Canadian national institution and therefore the only chain which has been allowed to open its doors anywhere near genteel Baddeck. We have established something of a routine over the years - Tony fills the car; I pop next door for the coffees and blueberry fritters. My mouth is watering already .....

My favorite is the Dutchie. I had one during my layover in Toronto on my way back home after the Krakow event :D .

Hi Wendy
In all my years living in Vancouver I have never been in a Tim Horton's. Honestly! ;-)
Have a great time in Cape Breton.

I wonder if anyone here has previously been to a concert at Rogers Arena (maybe even the 2009 concert by LC)? How is the arena as a concert venue? Is the sound quality OK? Is it likely to attract a "good" audience (i.e. people really into the music)? Sometimes the larger venues seem to suffer from a distracting, carnival atmosphere, with people talking during songs and frequently getting up to fetch drinks & snacks, visit the washroom, etc.
(Yes, I am aware that I have been spoiled by some of the earlier concerts in very small venues.) ;-)

Hi Ronaldson,

I went to the LC concert at Rogers Arena (which was called GM Place then) last year. It's an arena, not a wonderful acoustic theatre like the Beacon in NY, so of course the sound is not perfect, but it's not bad. I'm sure there won't be any 'carnival' atmosphere; last years' concert was filled with true LC afficionados, a well-behaved group who hung on his every word :D

Hi all, (esp. Imaginary Friend),

So what's up with the drinks and get-together...Natalie also expressed interest in getting together. Any decisions been made yet? I'm waiting for the general public sale tomorrow, as it was kind of late in the day when I found out that Hawaii had been cancelled.

See y'all there,
Linda.
