Welcome to the Forum, Omnia

.
I really like your evocative 'just thoughts'/poem.
On spring evenings like these
When love pours out of every pore
So true.

Thankyou Lizzy for your welcome.
On warm evenings I sometimes sit beneath an old willow tree overlooking a pond and jot down my thoughts, often they only make sense to me, but thankyou for your kind words.

hi Omnia,
I like your "thoughts" as well...
and the way you've expressed them...
sometimes the pond can give you many answers...
I also love to gaze into it...it's giving a peace to our soul...
Thanks for sharing your "thoughts" with us...

Hi Omnia

~
The scene you describe sounds perfect for pensive thinking. I love willow trees and, especially, ponds.
These lines are also strong in the image:
"And memories of unforgotten battles pile up
A hill of tiny ants with big leaves"

Lizzy, you haven´t made a contribution yourself. Why?
Who are you, anyway, you who seem to be the nicest person alive.
Or should I send a private message?
Love and more love,
Catherine

Hi Catherine ~
Thank you for your high compliment [hyperbolically, by necessity

]. Sending a private message is fine

. However, I can answer your
basic questions here. If my responses don't address what you're getting at, please let me know, and I'll clarify.
I'm someone who was brought up in a loving family ~ and then went off to discover the world out there, after I was raised. My career [and private life, for that matter] brought me in contact with many forms and manifestations of pain, anger, mean-spiritedness, and intentional harm. I'm someone who truly believes ~ and feels ~ that "Love is the only engine of survival," and [despite some really angry and not-so-nice communiques, in response to others, on occasion] I also truly feel that it serves no purpose to be anything but expansive and inclusive with others, in a realm where we are but strangers, yet potentially friends. Err on the side of love. It's what feels the best, from the inside out, for me.
I can't give the exact, direct quote, but I can give you the jist of it. I've lived long enough to recognize its truth, as spoken by a rabbi:
When I was young, I admired people who are clever.
Now that I'm old, I admire those who are kind.
I haven't made a contribution myself because I simply don't write poetry. I love to read, appreciate, and feel what others write, but the words just don't come together for me when I've attempted [a few times] to write poetry. My feelings come through when I simply write, but when I try to be 'poetic,' barely anything comes through

.
Thanks again for your own, loving posting, Catherine

.
Love,
Lizzy

Hello there Iubita, thankyou for your kind words too.
At times we all need to withdraw a bit from the real world and encounter our inner selves.
I'v found a special place under 'my willow'.I sit here during the evening and watch the night sky, and the moon as she changes phase.
I'm far enough away from the city lights for it to be wonderfully dark, with sometimes only the light from the moon and stars...

Ciao Omnia,
Wonderful poem. Especially these lines -- "And memories of unforgotten battles pile up
A hill of tiny ants with big leaves
On evenings like these..."

hi Omnia,
seems that I really love your poem...

...
every time when I am returning at the forum I am re-reading it again...it's short, but full of content...and I see it's not only for me...I wanted to quote the frase that I love more, but actually I love them all a lot...
I didn't write a poem for so long...but here are some of my recent "thoughts" that I wanted to share with you...
Sometimes…
Very rare we have
Our Magical Time
Letting us to “stop the world”…
Together…
Than the life is so wonderful…
Just for seconds…
I am calling this Love…
For you this has a different meaning…
Who is right?...May be both…
And entwined in the magical ball
Of our longing
Just for seconds,
But enough me to forget the pain
Of your missing,
Unreserved I am giving you
My World…
And after when the Reality is covering us
With her white mist and we
Are loosing ourselves
Somewhere…
In the world…
I am flying as an enchanted bird
Without Time and Direction…
Until I will find you again
And we’ll “stop the world” …
Together…
may be there are some grammathical mistakes or so on...if it's so, please correct me...
warm regards,
Iubita

Vesuvius, Grazie mille. ( I don't speak Italian and so I looked this up on google) sincerely - Thankyou.
Iubita, your thoughts were beautiful, thankyou for sharing.
Flowers are blossoming
A sense of rejoicing pervades the garden
We open ourselves to full bloom
One petal at a time....
