Leonard Cohen in his Tower

Tearing away the visceral curtain to the heart
Pouring out emotion as enflaming biting satire
Encaging our feelings within lines of song
Freedom given for the realm of interpretations
Confinement only of the listeners’ comprehension
Phoenix of verse in diffuse reincarnations
Weaving incantations into a presence on stage
Baring his very all and looking into our mortality
Revealing our desires in neon lights of banter
We have no protections in established conventions
Onion skin type revelation of our inner vanity
Bayonet like cut into our innermost pretensions
His evocative phrases of thought-provoking verse
Carefully crafted on the anvil of common pain
Lines picked from heaven and hardened in hell
Incarcerated in his tower amid a company of peers
Demons and saints cohabitating in prose
He offers us his soul stripped of ethereal fears
2008/2010
After Leonard Cohen concert in 2008
And some re-reading of ‘Energy of Slaves’
Looking forward to concert in Wiesbaden on the 03.09.2010
