I wonder if there is any hope of a Leonard Cohen Cd with new songs and with Cohen playing guitar. I believe it would be great, one man, one guitar. Ive listened to live performences from 1993 where he alone plays songs like avalance, and I think those versions are imortal.

I agree with you, Peter. They are powerful. Others have suggested the same thing ~ and I hope Leonard is considering the possibility, either on his own or related to the comments. With the outcry regarding the "sound" of Ten New Songs, I've suspected that we may here some pure and simple Leonard on his upcoming album. With his apparent concerns regarding his singing, it may be a "speaking" of song along with his guitar. Yet, I'm confident the response will be embracing if he chooses to go that direction, even if only for one song. I would
love to hear simply him and his guitar

In chat he gave for Ten New Songs, somebody questioned Leonard about this topic. He said he is right now doing some new songs only on acoustic guitar after a while, that this one (TNS) was collaboration, and this material will be on forthcoming album. (Yes, the one he is presumably doing). That was when he mentioned that some of outtake lyrics from much longer full version of A Thousand Kisses Deep will make their way to new record.
Anyway, he said The Book Of longing will be ready for Spring 2002. So, once again, Leonard dissapeared, and when he will be back is one of those Zen question:-)

Ah, so he's a little behind schedule.....it's still good to know what's in the offing. Thanks for that information.
