An incredibly beautiful tribute to a particular, beloved child ~ and to all children, everywhere. May I please have permission to use this in gift-giving to children [accrediting it to you, of course]. You've captured the truths of children. To isolate my favourite lines would become quite repetitive of your poem ~ really fine work, JM .

Thanks Liz, sure you can use the poem and you do not need to credit me because all the words have been used before, I just shuffled them in a certain order. Also thanks to you and Witty Owl for showing some compassion and open-mindedness on the News Forum. I don't know if you saw, but the US has just put sanctions on Syria a few weeks ago. If the EU follows suit than that makes me very afraid. In Iraq it wasn't the war that destroyed the country, it was the decade long sanctions. Peace be unto all.

Oh dear, the madness continues. Sanctions = the passive-aggressive reality that war = war = war. The white-glove trick doesn't change it. The whole of everything is so gnarled. The prison abuse; Nicholas Berg's horrific death; the mounting of innocent civilian's deaths within the span of a year ~ on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

Not pursuing these realities in the "War is Hell" thread has been to look beyond the elephant stomping around in the living room, but I have to believe that those who so strongly opposed my and some others' positions are coming to realize that we were not so far off regarding the nature of war; the 'advisability' of rushing into this one; and the highly-questionable motives of the perpetrators. For me, everything has become so painfully obvious as to make commenting purely superfluous.
