A Dedication -

There are many thoughts that I have about Leonard Cohen,
And I felt like putting just a few simple words here...

A Dedication -

As I take me down the rivers
The rivers of my mind
At times the words I know so well
At times - all newness I find

And as I take me down my rivers
They cross over your writings, your song
I feel the old and I learn to feel new
I feel lost, yet I feel I belong
But always the depths they evolve -
Into layers of words I will dive
For they speak their own language to me
But I know the beat of their ageless life
Always there is an openness
Where the heads of nails are hit
Dually - cut me to the quick -
And catch me in sheltering bliss

So as I take me down those rivers
Where I come by to visit you
Through all of your swamps and your springs
Into the old and into the new
I suddenly feel the weight change
I realise I'm without my boat
But it is alright – I am happy
For it is on your words that I float

I enjoy where you are floating from, A.
Leonard has this affect on me a lot as well.
And yes, (if I read your thoughts/intent correctly): always it is still "my" journey; not just me on "his" journey.

Thanks Mat

Yes - you did read me right :)

Amongst other things - he speaks in 'his own language', from the point of view of his own journey, and it translates to me on mine. Pretty cool! :D
