You are just a number

Someone where I work recently retired after fifty years service and with the gold watch was a card with these words written on :
you are just a number
Sixteen thousand good mornings
The same amount of good nights
Thirty two thousand tea breaks
With half as many lunch bites
Fifty winters and summers
Fifty autumns and spring
And all the Christmas parties
That fifty Christmas’s bring
Two thousand five hundred Mondays
With that stay in bed feeling you get
Then two thousand five hundred Fridays
With a weekend that's usually wet
Four hundred gridlocked bank holidays
And fifty easters with frost
Fifty holidays and its raining
Then you juggle all year with the cost
Six hundred monthly payslips
It’s a pittance but it pays the rent
Six hundred weeks in credit
Eighteen hundred and the moneys all spent
Now all these numbers are behind you
You are no longer counting the days
Just relax and enjoy your retirement
In any number of ways.
