A first time ever experience

It's taken a good part of a working lifetime (about the same time as LC has been producing albums) to happen, but it happened to me today: as I walked in towards my work desk/station, I heard that unmistakable voice and familiar sound of "Stories of the Street" (Songs Of Leonard Cohen) wafting over a partition into my workspace - I could hardly believe my ears!!!
Anyway, I quickly ascertained it was one of my colleagues who of late has taken to playing CDs at work on his PC, but who to that point had not played any LC (that I was aware of). Anyway, I was quite taken aback by this, especially as it is not something that I ever would have thought someone would play at work - given the mild derision that LC's early work can evoke!
(This album certainly isn't one I could comfortably play and unreservedly enjoy at work.)
Anyway, I told my workmate about our annual Toowoomba LC birthday event (which, by the way, is on 25th/26th September this year) and by his reaction I'm confident he'll be yet another new face at our modest, but happy, little celebration.
(It's great when life pops up these pleasant little surprises for us!
)
Cheers
