From A Tree
We watch as you tear apart the land
And say you can, because you're man.
But I am much older than you
And with age, comes Wisdom -
Remember, we were here first
We drank but now we die of thirst.
We fed but now we are falling dead.
How long will I have to watch
my brothers and sisters all die?
We keep you shelter, beauty,
We keep you cool
Have you forgotten the Golden Rule?
We watch as you tear apart the land
And say you can, because you're man.
But I am much older than you
And with age, comes Wisdom -
Remember, we were here first
We drank but now we die of thirst.
We fed but now we are falling dead.
How long will I have to watch
my brothers and sisters all die?
We keep you shelter, beauty,
We keep you cool
Have you forgotten the Golden Rule?
