jammymulligan was kind enough to send me the following suggestion when I asked for help in finding somewhere to stay in Sligo

"Clarion House Accommodation
Clarion Village Ballytiwnan County Sligo
00353 719119000

these are apartments on hotel grounds...you can rent them for 1, 2 ...nights. The hotel facilities are also available and its about 3miles from Lissadell. Ring them or visit the website..best wishes"

http://www.goireland.com/sligo/clarion- ... d41534.htm

When I spoke to them this morning they had quite a few rooms still available.
I hope Jammymulligan's suggestion will be of help to other forum members looking for somewhere to stay.

Yet sterday they still had accommodation at the Yeats Country Hotel, about 7 miles from Lissadell- 65€ Bed and Breakfast. Hope this is of some use to you all.

I am staying at the Sligo Park Hotel which gets so-so reviews by some, though not bad in trip Advisor.

It is the "wrong" side of Sligo for the venue but still not very far - I don't think it makes that much odds.

They still have rooms I think though the price has gone up since I booked and now does not include any breakfast which it did before!

Anyway, if all else fails could be worth a shot, don't blame me if it is rubbish though please :)

not as near as Sligo, but Donegal Town is less than 40 minutes away, and there's plenty of hotels & B&Bs there... Ballyshannon & Bundoran are even nearer (Bundoran is a holiday resort)... but you'd need to be driving, as there won't be any shuttle buses... and you will be coming at Lissadell from the opposite direction to the teeming hordes... ;-)

Also consider Fermanagh - Hotel Carlton in Belleek (Best Western) only about 20 miles away, also good small B&B, The Fiddlestone in Belleek
