SECRET

I'll tell you a secret
Known by a few
Someone told me
And now I'll tell you

Make your mind
Quiet and clean
Try to see nothing
Something will be seen

The clouds and the chaos
Can all clear away
Making way for the dawn
Of a new day

With your own eyes
You can see this truth
Known by so many
And now by you

This paradox
Is not a lie
And one day
You will know why

If you make your mind
Quiet and clean
And try to see nothing
Something will be seen

If your mind is still
You can see through a wall
Hear without ears
And answer a call

And then you will
See without eyes
A truth that is naked
For only the wise

Make your mind
Quiet and clean
Try to see nothing
Something will be seen

Hi iveta

I did write them as song lyrics... but have no melody in mind yet

The wisdom isn't mine, it is borrowed from ancient Tibetan Yogis ... I think this saying came from Naropa, an Indian Yogi who taught some Tibetan disciples. ... Milarepa also 'sang' songs with this wisdom many years ago when he descended from the mountain retreat caves where he lived.

yes, it sounds like ancient wisdom....
Most people around here do not read wise books anymore, so we should be grateful for an opportunity to at least get a glimpse of their wisdom via poems or songs...
Some guys complain that Leonard copies some ideas of Talmud or Psalms, but I think we should be grateful...

Hi again

Sure, Leonard was influenced by Judaism and Psalms, and country and western music and many things that touched his life. He was most affected, in my opinion, by his approximately 35 years of Buddhist study, contemplation and meditation. He ordained as a Zen monk and spent six years in retreat trying to deepen the wisdom that he had encountered since the mid seventies in Buddhism. Much of his lyrics demonstrate this wisdom and also his impeccable behavior and speech.. He is a remarkable being.
