In the event that the release in December 2009 of Dino's new album went unnoticed to some (it was posted in another thread with a different subject line), I thought I would make a new thread with all the details!! It is definitely "newsworthy" here.

On November 2nd - Dino released a video off his soon-to-be-released CD - the song "Clarinet" -

While I haven't heard anything off this, I recently purchased Closer Away, and I have to say I am not surprisingly impressed!

His voice is lovely, warm and soothing. I find it a little bit reminiscent of Peter Gabriel, does anybody else? For instance -

I've had the album since December and it is GREAT! Several songs include a "little help from some friends" . I loved Closer Away but in my estimation this is a much brighter, happier album! Dino is wonderful! And I doubt anyone can read the dedication to his father with dry eyes! Buy it! Download it! You won't be disappointed!

I completely agree with you Lady Di. Dino has a very warm and sincere tone to his voice and the lyrics obviously come from the heart . Having both CDs by comparison my favorite is "The Hotel Suites" having said that I do enjoy both CDs because they are different and original. Beautiful song and sound from a most talented artist. Thank you Dino...

...Leonard did a very brief spot on my last CD, whereupon he plays his Indian Murchang that he carries ever-presently in his coat pocket. I don't think he has ever graced another artist's Album with this instrument, much less appeared on another project. Through a little electronic tweeking, I managed to split his single-noted instrument into various chords, while still allowing his mouth driven manipulation of tone to control all of the original nuances he gave. Although very brief in the beginning of the song and at the end, I find it to be quite special.

Just as special, even more, is Sharon's lovely contralto singing of the hook. What a treat to grace this humble song with her strong , yet relaxed, delivery. I find that the it would not have worked without her confidence to contrast my nervous and desperate groaking. This was written during the Greece and Spain part of the tour and it would not have worked without these two artists giving me the correct emotional direction.

Thanks for the background information! I am suspecting that every song on this album comes with its own fascinating tale of how it evolved and was put together.

So - besides doing all that he did - up there on the stage - at every show - Dino was one busy fellow!

I love the sound of Dino's singing voice in this particular range - and this "Warm" video is cool!

After the Salzburg concert, I acquired Dino's disc. It is amazing. So unique, so Dino. I especially like "The Boy Inside," but really, all the pieces are exquisite.
