Song of the Amatory Soldier

The orders came in
Transmission received
Our work to begin
For triumph achieved

We prayed to uphold
The message devout
We planned the revolt
And then we shipped out

Too late to abort
Too soon to shout
Our time it was short
With no room for doubt

We came into port
To boast and to brag
We captured the fort
We rose up our flag

To crush in my glove
The hate they impart
I came here with love
To rescue your heart

The message was spoken
Commands to declare
Our valor unbroken
Our fists in the air

Where wickedness thrived
Your strength was depleted
They kept you deprived
Of all that you needed

Your beauty forsaken
Your spirit defeated
With love I awaken
Your heart mistreated

The fort it was taken
The flag it was raised
Our resolve unshaken
Our courage unfazed

O, send out the dove
Ere twilight comes falling
I came here with love
To fulfill my calling

The sky did provoke
The ground giving birth
The flesh became smoke
The blood became earth

But on the horizon
Just within our view
Materializing
Through mists of gray hue

Like a great tidal wave
The enemy grew
And blood they did crave
From this army of two

Unyielding and brave
And cloaked in the mud
Prepared for the grave
Prepared for the flood

For the absence thereof
Where vultures had swirled
I came here with love
To conquer the world

The orders came in
Transmission received
The outlook was grim
Our cause disbelieved

Confusion engrossed
Your fear took control
I abandoned my post
For a comfortable hole

Your heart in retreat
So distant and cold
I knew my defeat
When I lost your soul

And here I would greet
Your affection denied
I fell incomplete
With this wound in my side

The heavens above
Its thunder alarms
I came here with love
To die in its arms
