ECHOS
Who was he from long ago
what did he do to wound you so
first he came and then he went
I wonder if he truly meant
to carve into your heart a hole
shaped just like a beggar's bowl

echos of oldness
echos of rain
echos of coldness
echos of pain
echos that make us
remember the past
echos so deep
and oh so vast

The man you saw was someone else
a shadow from your carousel
your phantom father interferes
those were old familiar tears
I watched them trickle down and fall
then you stepped behind your wall

echos of oldness
echos of rain
echos of coldness
echos of pain
echos that make us
remember the past
echos so deep
and oh so vast

Now you try me for the crime
as I travel through your time
seems to me my fate is sealed
but one day my wound will heal
I tried so hard to make my case
still you cannot see my face

echos of oldness
echos of rain
echos of coldness
echos of pain
echos that make us
remember the past
echos so deep
and oh so vast

Oh Sean I see my world in your poem.
It is beautifully written and I understand every single line.
Thank you for posting this treasure,
Juan x

Hello Jimmy

No I don't have a tune yet but I see it more as a song than a poem. I don't have a guitar here in Ireland yet, I am looking for one.

Hello Juan

Glad you liked the piece. I am curious to know where you are (10000 miles from Canada) and whether this is good or bad news for you?

Sean
