messalina79 posted on youtube the audio of Leonard singing Don't Go Home With Your Hard On from a Bryn Mawr performance in 1975. This is a very different version of the song than what is on DOLM, as messalina79 describes, a "slower and with a lilting rhythm" version.

The slowness of this version would have made sure he went go home exactly as the title of the song suggests. To go to sleep ! Most L C songs need to be sung slowly but in my opinion this isn't one of them . Much prefer the original

I have always liked this song (in part because LC's wit is so evident in the lyrics) and I couldn't help but listen to this version repeatedly. In doing so, I found myself enjoying the bluesy overtones. Now I feel I've got 'another' LC song to enjoy even though they are one and the same.

Thank you for the link Marie!

Kindest regards,
Mary

(P.S. Messalina has put a number of interesting LC items on youtube. Is this a forum member?)

Glad you have liked the videos - I have been putting up ones that I have particularly enjoyed as I explore Leonard's live material (I always thought I didn't like live performances till I was utterly blown away seeing Leonard in 2008, so I have been rapidly making up for my previous lack of interest in this area  )
