I chose you

You chose me
Among many and the urgency
And I got accustomed
To that strange love
Far, there, in the wind
Near, here, in my thought
I accepted you in that space
And I missed you
And searched for you
And despite the others
Those near
Those with their arms opened
Those that look at me and search for me
I chose your distance and your silence

hi Sandra,
I love your poem...it's provoked so many thoughts and brought me back in my own memories...
the distnace and silence...it is not easy at all...to experience this strange love...and the missing is so painful, I know...
but Love is a magic and has many different faces and shows us in many different ways...and only God knows the reason for it...
so, thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful poem...and I believe, many others will come after it...
Love, Iubita

"And despite the others

Those with their arms opened
Those that look at me and search for me
I chose your distance and your silence"
The whole poem, and particularly this verse, really speaks to me, Sandra. You capture the senses of this "strange love" very well.

Sandra~
Very poignant.
As i read it, i thought that it could almost be talking about one's relationship with their God. Although no mention of worship or faith is implied.
I really like the title: "I chose you" and then the first line, "You chose me"
Thanks for sharing.
Laurie
