Manic with devotion

I pace around and panic
Yep I panic quite a lot
I panic that I'm manic
or I panic that I'm not
Because if I'm not manic
am I otherwise quite mad?
Not with raging anger
but blackly foul and bad?
Some tell me I'm a genius
so where's my master stroke?
Perhaps it's sailing t'ward me
in a sturdy wooden boat
If so the boat must surely be
crossing stormy oceans!
To words upon a page
I am manic with devotion

Great words! So, when/how did you crawl inside my head and then find a way to express my angst so perfectly?

Thanks Gina...
Ahhh that must have been when you were dreaming, funny things can happen from 10 000 miles away...

Hi Juan, I really enjoyed your poem - great rhythm.

So you're located 10 000 miles from Canada, are you a Canadian who's wandered away from home?

Hi Cate, thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

No not Canadian but a long-displaced Dubliner, many miles from home. I went back for the first time in over 30 years a few months ago. Amazing journey, much to write about!
