Dropping Rain

I saw you this morning assaulting glass
Employing Newton without a faint chance
You died as I watch'd you fall at my feet
You've fulfilled your promises, yet again

I cannot go where your journey must wend
Gutters and drainage are new to your trends
Thousands of times you have taken this course
Man now has thwarted your paths and their ends

You fell on the Ancients, you fell on all
What you have seen could predict Mankind's fall
History for us is but lifetimes for you
What we see in books you show us in dew

Enough of this twaddling iambic verse
When did a raindrop enjoy such so terse?
I sit looking out, you fall looking in
Who will behold you when I'm but a kin

Long gone and forgotten, family deceased
You'll pass this way often, hung on the breeze
You'll circle the globe so effortlessly
Eternal, immortal, divisibily

You'll pass through the bodies, the soils and the
seas, wafted o'er mountains, trickling through streams
One thing's for sure as I come to this end
This prose is pure crap fit for the U-bend.

This paints such beautiful pictures.

Some of your words feel like silk.

I really like how you end it - it is a sharp bump back to reality.

I love it.
