My Love

The rain drops through
The wells of my pores
Melting the demons
Now I am yours

My gown of ice
Defrosted from time
Weaves through my body
As I prepare to be thine

Dear Lord of darkness
Sweet giver of light
Your bride is ready
The betrothal ripe

I stand by your side
The beginning is near
As blessings rain down
At last love is here

Dear Elfra,

How beautifully expressed are your entreaties, gratitude, and the disarming magic and majesty of love bringing you through, all that it has, to today. An adult lifetime, or perhaps an entire lifetime, expressed in your beautifully written and very interesting poem.

Depending on the type of ceremony [formal/informal/traditional/non-traditional] you have planned, it seems it would be a lovely, poignant inclusion, for speaking to your beloved, as a part of it. Hopefully, you could make it through without tears....however, if not, that would be okay, too.

All good things,
Elizabeth

A postscript on something I just noticed. This post is #419 for me, with April 19 being my own [former] marriage date.
