To see the end of the sea and the stars
with water flowing upwards under the surface of Mars
and dig under the red dust
and uncover an elegantly carved bust
with eyes that were missing, not to see
and it must have been a great civilisation
for they had pyramids as well
you are not to tell
and it held the memories of the people
who could live without war
and throwing missiles at each other
but the weather changed
and buried their cities in dust
the mighty industries
built on the fuel of lust
and only left us, this small bust
these small reminders
of the dilemas of alien life
underneath like fossils to be discovered
on the rising of Atlantis

Georges~This poem has a little too much going on for me. Since the subjects are open to interpretation: Science fiction. Mythology. Hindsight history is the mix i see. But i suspect these are Not the way you would view these subjects in the context of the poem (?). Even if only using the examples as metaphors the message of the poem (behave!??!) is unclear to me.

Or just as likely this is over my head, and well executed in regards to the main theme of Atlantis, which i know little of, and your deductions clear. Remember, sometimes you need to talk sloow to some of us. cheers, Laurie
